Nick Fouquet's Flame-Treated Hatmaking Masterclass
Born in New York, brought up in the south west of France and now based in Los Angeles, Nick Fouquet's far-flung trips to Patagonia, Australia and across Europe inspired his eponymous hatmaking business that specialises in unconventional shapes. In an exclusive new video we spoke to Fouquet, who guides us through the sewing, steaming, fire treatment and sanding processes required to produce his vintage-inspired headwear line. "Hats should be as unique as the people who wear them," says Fouquet, who sources vintage woven fabrics and rare dyes from India and Japan during what he calls an "intuitive" creative process that differs from one hat to another.
